Thrōn made joins Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin Competition

Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce, the state's combined chamber of commerce and manufacturers association, is partnering once again with Johnson Financial Group to host the "Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin" competition. This statewide event, now in its tenth year, celebrates Wisconsin's premier industry of manufacturing and the dedicated Wisconsinites who drive it forward. Last year, manufacturing alone contributed more than $73.7 billion to the state's gross domestic product and generated an estimated $42.8 billion in earnings for workers in the sector.

The contest began with a nomination period that runs from August 25 through September 12. After that, a public vote selects the top 16 products, which will advance to a bracket-style tournament known as Manufacturing Madness. In this format, products face off in head-to-head matchups, and the ones with the most votes move on to the next round. Manufacturers, consumers, employees, and fellow Wisconsinites can vote once per day per email address throughout the competition. The 2025 winner will be announced at WMC's Business Day event in Madison on October 23.

Thrōn made’s First Entry

For Thrōn made, this marks our first entry into the contest, and we are thrilled to represent our innovative 3D printed furniture among Wisconsin's manufacturing highlights. As a small team based in Schofield, we specialize in crafting sustainable furniture using large-format 3D printing technology. Our 3D printed furniture Wisconsin collection starts with standout pieces like the wavy Larroa Chair, the boxy Laakito Chair, the minimalist Minima Shelf, the pet-friendly Mascota Cat Home, and the enduring Bergsto Chair. Each design blends functionality with a unique aesthetic, all produced in-house with our RMC-30 printer to minimize waste and maximize creativity, which you can check out here.

The Future of 3D Printed Furniture

We are passionate about making sustainable furniture design that fits seamlessly into everyday life, and entering this contest is our way of showcasing that Wisconsin-made innovation to a wider audience. We will continue to develop and release new 3D printed furniture as well, keeping our collection fresh and evolving for those who appreciate our approach. We invite everyone to vote for Thrōn made at www.madeinwis.com and explore our Kickstarter at for more.
